What Should Workers and Retirees Know about their Pensions?
The bankruptcies of companies like Chrysler and General Motors have left many workers and retirees worried about the security of their pensions. The question, "What will happen to my pension?" is very much on the minds of workers and retirees in the automotive sector - and elsewhere. Automotive Retiree Groups Take Action to Protect Retiree Pensions
In the weeks leading up to the bankruptcies of Chrysler and General Motors, several retiree groups have sprung to action to protect their pensions and retiree health care. In fact, many of these groups participated in an April meeting with the White House's Auto Task Force. To find out what these organizations are doing on behalf of Chrysler and General Motors retirees, check out their web sites: Delphi Salaried Retiree Association, GM Retirees Association, National Chrysler Retirement Organization, and Over the Hill Car People, a group that serves General Motors retirees.
